Map - Malaga Airport to Villanueva del Rosario

Please note that this map shows the old way into the town - there is a new bypass that makes accessing the old part of the town where we are based and the last 300m of your journey a lot easier - but GoogleMaps are not showing this road yet.

The written directions below the map give the correct, easier version.

Directions to Villanueva de Rosario from Malaga Airport

Overview: Malaga airport is slightly south west of the city - Initially on exiting the airport complex follow signs toward Malaga (E15/A7), aiming to join the main E15/A7 motorway heading north east. Once on the motorway follow signs for Antequera and Granada (and initially Motril) before heading due north on the A45 motorway.

The airport terminal is accessed by one main road (Av del Comandante García Morato) and on this road immediately before the terminal buildings there is a largish roundabout. If you are coming from the airport then there will be a large brewery building ahead and to the right of the roundabout. This roundabout is the starting point for the detailed directions below.

The first few steps may vary depending on where your hire car is parked or the car hire company is situated. There are some car hire companies on site at the airport, but there a lot that are situated on the main airport access road that operate a shuttle service between the airport and their base.

The following table gives directions from Malaga airport to our house.

1. If you are coming from the airport then go straight across the reference roundabout - direction Malaga - once off the roundabout quickly take the left hand of the two lanes. The road splits and you take the left split towards Malaga
0 km
2. Follow this road (Camino de la Loma de San Julián ) as it bears right through 270 degrees to join the N340.
0.2 km
3. Once on the N-340 dual carriageway/motorway follow it for a couple of kilometers before leaving it to join the main E-15/A-7 motorway.
2.4 km
4. Take the ramp onto E-15/A-7 motorway
0.2 km
5. Once on the motorway follow signs for Motril/E-15/Antequera. This is the main coastal motorway. Stay on this motorway following signs for Granada/Antequerra/Motril until exit 241. Leave here and merge you onto the A-45 motorway heading north towards Antequerra.
8.9 km
6. Stay on the A45 heading northwards / inland until the motorway splits. Take the right branch to join the A92M - direction Granada
28.2 km
7.

Follow the A92M for 4.6 km and then take exit 20 onto the A-7203 - signposted Villanueva de Rosario. Head towards the town passing a petrol station on the very outskirts. 400 m after the petrol station the road takes a sharp left over a small bridge. Carry on over this and 500m later there is another left hand bend in the road over a small bridge.

Immediately before this bridge turn right onto the new road that gives easy access to to old part of the town where we are based.

8.6 km
8. Follow this road to its end at a T-junction with a playground and small fountain that will be immediately in front of you. Park close to here - there is normally a lot of space for parking.
0.2 km
9.

To find Calle Fuente just walk left from the T junction over the bridge and walk in this same direction for 40m. The road splits - the left hand split is Calle Fuente. We are at Calle Fuente 23 - this is on the right and the house has a large brown garage door and a small sign saying "Rock Climbing Company".

0.1 km
9.

Stay on Calle del Arroyo for about 350/400m until it ends at a T junction. Calle Fuente is only 50m away on the left, but until you get your bearings it is probably easiest to turn right at the T junction, go over the small bridge and park on the right near the large open space by the fountain.

To find Calle Fuente just retrace your steps over the bridge and walk in this same direction for 40m. The road splits - the left hand split is Calle Fuente. We are at Calle Fuente 23 - this is on the right and the house has a large brown garage door.
