Sacks and climbing gear can be stored in the garage or lobby, if you don’t fancy taking them upstairs. It is safe and there is plenty of room there.
We are in the process of building a training wall in the garage for those who arrive back from the crags with enough energy and skin.
The wall is now complete and has a main section at 35 degrees, a vertical side wall and a smaller section at 20 degrees. There are over 150 holds on the wall with more to come together with a full selection of hangers, chains and belay anchors.
It will provide not only a good fitness training facility, but will also allow us to teach rope techniques such as threading belays, clipping bolts and constructing belays in a really controlled environment before heading outside to practice everything for real.
The landing area is fully covered in foam plus there is a running machine and small finger board for warming up.
There is a washing machine in the basement that can be used at a nominal charge.
